French government announces measures to address student protests
The French government has responded to high school protests with a plan addressing student demands, including reforms to the university admissions platform, Parcoursup. Education Minister Edouard Geffray and Higher Education Minister Philippe Baptiste outlined measures to be implemented immediately and over the coming months. The roadmap aims to tackle issues raised by students, following an online consultation that gathered over 100,000 contributions. Key changes include a two-stage reform of Parcoursup, with initial adjustments for the 2027 admissions cycle and a complete replacement by 2028, pending legislative changes.
