Church Fund to be liquidated. The New Left project will be submitted to the Speaker of the Sejm today
A proposal to abolish the Church Fund is being submitted to the Polish parliament by the Left party, citing delays in government action. Anna Maria Żukowska emphasized the need for immediate action, as the inter-ministerial team has failed to reach a compromise over two years. The proposed changes include reducing state funding for clergy social insurance and transferring maintenance costs for historic churches to the National Heritage Fund. The Left expects support from the Civic Coalition, as the Prime Minister has previously favored abolishing the Fund.
