Pál Fürcht: I was instructed to destroy the authentic copies

Pál Fürcht, former head of the Central Investigative Prosecutor's Office, was questioned by a parliamentary committee led by László Toroczkai regarding alleged abuses. Fürcht, currently suspended from his position due to a television statement, claimed that attempts were made to obstruct investigations, particularly concerning Deputy State Secretary Pál Völner. He alleged that he received orders to destroy evidence but opposed this and secured documents in a safe. Fürcht was a key figure in the Völner-Schadl case and previously stated that connections to defendants do not imply criminal suspicion. He resigned from his position in June over another case and was recently suspended again due to his statements.
