Galp. Government admits to concentrating participation in the refinery

The Minister of Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho, indicated that the state's involvement in Galp might focus solely on the Sines refinery. During a parliamentary session, she mentioned that Galp intends to separate its commercial and industrial operations following a failed deal with Moeve. Carvalho emphasized that if external EU financing is involved, Portugal has mechanisms to ensure control remains within the country. She also noted that increasing state participation in Galp is a possibility. Additionally, she defended the state's investment in REN as a matter of national energy sovereignty, highlighting its benefits for Portugal.
