Police in Silesia arrested 11 individuals suspected of being part of a criminal group involved in illegal gambling. Searches were conducted at the suspects' homes and 11 locations housing illegal gaming machines. Authorities seized 53 machines, over one million zlotys in cash, a collection of 12 gold coins, and foreign currency. The investigation, overseen by the District Prosecutor's Office in Gliwice, revealed that the group operated illegal gambling from 2019 to 2026. Despite previous closures of their establishments, the gang repeatedly replaced the machines. Charges include organizing illegal gambling and participating in a criminal organization, with one suspect, a Czech citizen, accused of leading the gang. Five suspects were remanded in custody, while others received preventive measures. They face potential prison sentences and hefty fines.
