Garamendi proposes to veto rival organizations affiliated with employers' associations in CEOE amid the war for representation

Antonio Garamendi, president of CEOE, is considering prohibiting double affiliation among member organizations to strengthen representation. This proposal arises amid competition for business representation, particularly after some organizations joined Conpymes while remaining affiliated with traditional associations. Currently, there are no explicit rules against double affiliation, but Garamendi's initiative could lead to internal rule revisions. The situation is further complicated by a recent exodus from Conpymes, where 19 organizations criticized its leadership. Concurrently, the renewal of the Economic and Social Council (CES) threatens CEOE's representation, as new regional associations are being included, reducing CEOE's seats.
