Natural gas rises by more than 3% and exceeds 100 euros
Natural gas prices surged over 3% to reach 100 euros per megawatt-hour, marking the highest levels since 2022. This increase is attributed to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and reduced liquefied natural gas supply. Since the beginning of the year, prices have risen approximately 250%, with nearly 200% increase since the onset of Middle Eastern conflicts. Analysts highlight that European gas stocks are at exceptionally low levels, around 75% capacity, raising market sensitivity to potential supply disruptions. Additionally, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum aims to enhance its international role and promote sustainable development through natural gas usage.
