Diesel, the road transport sector demands new aid and price increases recognized up to subcontractors

The transport sector is seeking new government support due to rising diesel prices and reduced refunds from mobile excise taxes. A temporary cut in diesel excise from October 28 to November 7 will decrease refunds, prompting calls for full compensation through tax credits. The EU has set conditions for these credits, limiting them to vehicles over 7.5 tons and Euro 5 and above. Associations are requesting additional funding to extend support until the end of the year, with estimates of up to 180 million euros needed. Additionally, there are proposals to ensure that price adjustments for fuel costs are passed down the supply chain to smaller transporters.
