Gas price continues to rise, above 100 euros per megawatt hour

European gas prices have surpassed 100 euros per megawatt-hour, the highest since the 2022 gas crisis. Prices were below 30 euros before the conflict in the Middle East escalated. Households with dynamic contracts will see immediate price increases, with current costs at 1.95 euros per cubic meter, up from 1.13 euros last year. Those with variable contracts will experience delayed price changes, while over half of households have fixed contracts, which shield them from immediate price hikes but may lead to higher costs upon renewal.
