Gcap, the sixth-generation fighter presents the bill: the maneuver allocates over 47 million in two years

Italy's participation in the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) with Japan and the UK will incur additional public finance costs, totaling over 47 million euros for 2027 and 2028. The increase is attributed to unforeseen administrative budget developments within the GCAP International Government Organisation (GIGO), which oversees the program. The budget for FY 2026 is set at 113.1 million pounds, with Italy's share at 37.7 million pounds. This necessitates adjustments to spending forecasts to address budget misalignments and potential currency fluctuations affecting costs.
