Memorial wall at Soviet War Cemetery vandalized again, this time with slogans about communists, refugees, and housing

The Soviet War Cemetery in Leusden has been vandalized again, with offensive graffiti targeting refugees and communists. This incident follows a similar act in July, where 150 gravestones were also defaced. The cemetery is the only one in the Netherlands dedicated to Soviet soldiers who died during World War II. Remco Reiding, director of the cemetery foundation, expressed concern over the repeated vandalism and noted that the police have begun an investigation. He hopes for increased surveillance to prevent future incidents and has been working to identify the soldiers buried there since 1998.
