We interpret security differently from generation to generation
A study commissioned by Allianz Hungária explored the concept of security across different generations in Hungary. It involved a representative sample of 1,001 adults aged 18-69 and 16 in-depth interviews. Experts highlighted that older generations prioritize stability and predictability, while younger generations value adaptability. Baby boomers find security in home ownership and family support, whereas Generation Z emphasizes flexibility and reliance on family. Despite high levels of concern about various risks, there is a significant gap between worry and action regarding insurance. The study suggests that younger individuals perceive preparedness differently, focusing on adaptability rather than traditional security measures. Overall, the need for security is universal, but perceptions of what constitutes security vary across generations.
