General dismissed for leaking secrets about Iran

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth dismissed Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia for allegedly leaking classified information regarding the wars in Iran and Ukraine. The dismissal followed Sylvia's failure in three polygraph tests, with the Justice Department investigating the matter. Despite the dismissal being linked to these tests, some Pentagon sources claim the accusations are false. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell emphasized the department's zero tolerance for unauthorized disclosures of sensitive information, stating that such actions jeopardize national security. Sylvia, who was responsible for coordinating battle plans in Iran, is the second director to be dismissed in less than a year, following Joseph McGee's resignation due to tensions with Hegseth.
