General Staff: Russia has lost 1,574,620 troops in Ukraine since Feb. 24, 2022

Since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, Russia has reportedly lost over 1.57 million troops in Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian General Staff. This figure includes 1,830 casualties from the previous day. Additionally, Russia has lost significant military equipment, including over 12,000 tanks and 25,000 armored vehicles. Independent analyses suggest that Russian casualties are considerably higher than those of Ukraine, with estimates indicating a ratio of approximately 2.5:1. Ukrainian officials have not disclosed their total losses, but President Zelensky mentioned at least 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed in action. The ongoing conflict complicates the retrieval of fallen soldiers' bodies for identification purposes.
