General Staff: Russia has lost 1,581,840 troops in Ukraine since Feb. 24, 2022

Since the start of the invasion on February 24, 2022, Russia has reportedly lost over 1.5 million troops in Ukraine, according to Ukraine's General Staff. This figure includes 1,400 casualties from the previous day. Additionally, Russia has lost significant military equipment, including tanks, armored vehicles, and aircraft. Independent assessments suggest that Russian casualties are much higher than Ukraine's, with estimates indicating a ratio of approximately 2.5:1. While Ukraine's losses remain undisclosed, President Zelensky mentioned at least 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed in action, with many more missing. The ongoing conflict complicates the recovery of fallen soldiers for identification purposes.
