Parents with VAT number, up to 500 euros per month for babysitting and nursery instead of parental leave

The 2027-2029 budget bill introduces a voucher for self-employed parents, providing up to 500 euros monthly for childcare services instead of parental leave. This experimental measure lasts for three years and is available for a maximum of three months, applicable after maternity or paternity leave. The funds can be used for babysitting or accredited childcare services. Only self-employed individuals registered with INPS, including artisans and merchants, are eligible, while employees and private professionals are excluded. The annual budget for this initiative is limited to 15 million euros for each year from 2027 to 2029, with specific access criteria to be defined by a ministerial decree.
