Restored Jesuit Church in Lier Offers More Comfort During Concerts: New Grandstand with About 400 Seats

The restoration of the 18th-century Jesuit Church in Lier is complete, featuring a new wooden tribune with 389 seats. The church will host free concerts by Podiumacademie Lier students on November 14 and 15. The restoration, supported by the city and the Heritage Agency, included cleaning walls, restoring vaults, and renewing the floor. The church now has improved ventilation, lighting, and sun screens for better concert experiences. Geert Hendrix, director of Podiumacademie Lier, emphasizes the church's transformation into a fully equipped concert venue. The church has a rich history, having been built in 1749 and facing deterioration over the years. The official opening is on November 13, with free concerts available for the public.
