Germany in talks to buy Ukrainian jet-powered drones

Germany is in talks with Ukraine to acquire Bars jet-powered drones, as part of a broader strategy to enhance its military capabilities. This initiative follows Germany's plan to procure thousands of deep-strike weapons from European manufacturers. The Bars drone, capable of reaching speeds of 700 km/h and a range of 1,000 km, is currently produced under a joint venture established in July 2026. Ukraine utilizes approximately 2,000 of these drones monthly for strategic strikes against Russian infrastructure. Germany's involvement marks its significant role in Ukraine's defense technology sector, with numerous joint ventures aimed at advancing military technology.
