Glória: AML wants to hear from Carris and the insurer
The Lisbon Municipal Assembly's commission on the Glória elevator derailment will begin hearings with Mobility Councilor Gonçalo Reis and Carris management. The commission, formed after a tragic accident on September 3, 2025, which resulted in 16 deaths, aims to investigate municipal responses. Various political parties expressed their views on the necessity of hearing different stakeholders, including the CML, Carris, and potentially the elevator's maintenance company and emergency services. Concerns were raised about the legitimacy of calling the insurance company involved, with discussions on the influence of media presence during hearings. The commission is chaired by Hugo Lobo from the PS party.
