Golf club Keerbergen cuts down 200 sick trees: "Without intervention, little of the park experience will remain"

Keerbergen Golf Club plans to cut down around 200 sick trees due to age and drought. The club aims to enhance biodiversity and adapt to climate change by planting more resilient species. A nature management plan was developed in collaboration with a specialized company and approved by local authorities. The first phase of tree removal will begin on October 26, lasting about eight days, followed by a second phase. The club seeks to maintain its park-like character while improving water management and biodiversity.
