Government says that PRR is a "conquest" but still needs "surgical work"
The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, stated that the total execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) is a significant achievement for Portugal, but emphasized the need for further detailed work. He noted that while all milestones were met by August 31, extensive verification and certification of documents remain. Almeida urged parliamentarians to view the PRR as a national success. The government plans to amend contracts with contractors to extend deadlines to December 31, 2027, ensuring continued funding. Nearly 5 billion euros will be disbursed to beneficiaries by 2027, with 270 million euros already paid this week. The PRR aims to implement reforms and investments to boost economic recovery and job creation.
