Government refuses to extend youth IRS beyond 35 years

The government has decided not to extend the youth IRS benefit beyond the age of 35, emphasizing the need for limits on such measures. The Secretary of State for Housing, Patrícia Gonçalves Costa, stated that the issue is not merely about age but about the ability to establish a life project. She acknowledged the ongoing housing crisis, which has been evident since 2015, and highlighted the government's urgent efforts to address it. Costa mentioned that the government is engaging with various stakeholders in the housing sector to find effective solutions and is currently discussing a rental law aimed at restoring confidence in the rental market.
