Government meets with social partners with minimum wage and Labor Compensation Fund on the agenda

The government is meeting with social partners to discuss the national minimum wage and the Compensation Fund. Unions advocate for a higher minimum wage, while employers see no justification for increases. The meeting will address the tripartite agreement on wage growth and economic development, with the minimum wage set to rise to 970 euros by 2027. Unions propose increases above this target due to inflation concerns. The Compensation Fund, created in 2013, is also on the agenda, with companies now able to use accumulated funds for worker support. The meeting is scheduled for 3 PM at the Economic and Social Council in Lisbon.
