Penny by penny. There are new maximum fuel prices
On November 3, fuel prices in Poland will be capped at 6.45 PLN for 95 octane gasoline, 7.31 PLN for 98 octane, and 8.14 PLN for diesel. These prices are slightly lower than those set earlier in the week. The announcement is part of the third phase of the Fuel Price Lowering Package (CPN), aimed at controlling fuel costs for drivers. The new legislation allows for temporary reductions in excise duty and VAT on liquid fuels, funded by a new tax on companies with excessive profits. The CPN package is expected to last until the end of 2026, with an estimated cost of around 5 billion PLN. A 60% tax on excess profits from fuel sales will apply from March 2026 to March 2027, based on historical margins from 2025.
