PZU Group closer to acquiring a giant of the Ukrainian market. There is approval

PZU SA is nearing completion of a significant acquisition of MetLife Ukraine, enhancing its position in the Central and Eastern European insurance market. The acquisition aligns with PZU's strategy to strengthen its life insurance segment and invest in Ukraine's market potential. MetLife Ukraine, the largest life insurer in Ukraine, serves around 900,000 clients and holds a 50% market share. PZU aims to finalize the acquisition by Q1 2027, following a conditional agreement made in May 2026. PZU is the largest financial institution in Poland and Central Eastern Europe, serving approximately 22 million clients across five countries.
