The forint is weakening, the price of natural gas has soared to a four-year high on the stock exchange

On Monday morning, the Hungarian forint traded around 367.3 against the euro, marking a 0.2% depreciation from Friday. However, it quickly strengthened to 366.7 later in the morning. ING Bank analysts noted potential selling pressure near the 368 level. Meanwhile, gas prices surged above 97 euros per megawatt-hour, the highest in nearly four years, influenced by Middle Eastern tensions and low gas storage levels in Europe. Currently, storage is at 75%, below the five-year average of 86%. On a positive note, global bond market pressures seem to be easing, with U.S. and French 10-year yields dropping below 5%.
