Housing: Aguiar-Branco wants to know urgently if parties accept debate requested by the PCP
The President of Parliament, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, has requested parties to clarify within 24 hours if they agree to a debate on housing proposed by the PCP, which would require altering the budget discussion schedule. This request follows a PCP demand for an urgent debate regarding police actions on November 1 in Lisbon and Porto. Aguiar-Branco emphasized that any schedule change requires consensus among all political forces represented in the leaders' conference. He noted that the parliamentary rules stipulate that the agenda cannot be interrupted unless there is unanimous agreement. The urgency of the situation justifies a written consultation among leaders to determine if consensus exists for the proposed schedule change.
