Housing: Court says that half past midnight is not an automatic limit and allows the setup of a tent
The Lisbon Administrative Court ruled that the midnight limit for protests is not absolute, allowing a demonstrator to set up a tent in Rossio until November 24, 2026. The court's decision permits the protest to continue overnight, including between 00:30 and 06:30, and requires coordination with the Christmas Market planned for the area. This ruling followed a legal action by demonstrator Renata Cambra against the Ministry of Internal Administration and the Municipality of Lisbon, but did not address the legality of collective occupation of public space or the right to set up tents by multiple participants.
