Hackers stole over 400,000 AfD emails, including those from party leader Weidel

The German political party AfD has been hacked, resulting in the theft of over 400,000 emails, including those from party leaders. The party confirmed the breach, stating that data from a limited number of email accounts was copied, most of which were inactive for years. The emails date from 2014 to September 12 this year, with 49,000 documents involved, including sensitive information. Some emails have been made searchable online, revealing discussions on extremist topics and potential illegal activities. The domestic security agency BfV considers the AfD partially extreme right, with widespread xenophobia and racism within the party.
