Halle doubles standing time for campers at Suikerkaai: "Giving tourists more time to visit the city and surroundings"

The Halle city council has decided to extend the parking duration for camper vans at Suikerkaai to 48 hours, aiming to attract more tourists. Tourism alderman Mark Demesmaeker stated that this change allows visitors more time to explore Halle and its surroundings. The popularity of the parking spot is expected to increase, especially in spring and summer, although exact tourist numbers are unclear. The good connection to Brussels is also a significant advantage. The city is considering expanding facilities for camper vans, including adding drinking water and charging points, while overnight stays in other city parking areas remain prohibited.
