Hamme and Waasmunster can now seize vehicles themselves: "Faster action against show-off behavior"

New police regulations allow mayors of Hamme and Waasmunster to seize vehicles independently for public order violations, without involving the judiciary. This aims to address issues like street racing and noisy car parades more swiftly. The fines for such offenses have also doubled to 500 euros, with additional costs for towing and storage potentially reaching around 1,000 euros. Organizers of motorized parades must now apply for permits, with increased penalties for non-compliance.
