Hankó and Varga-Bajusz will spend Christmas behind bars

Hankó Balázs and former state secretary Varga-Bajusz Veronika will spend Christmas and New Year in custody due to serious charges related to mismanagement of funds. The Kecskemét District Court extended their detention until February 1, following a request from the Bács-Kiskun County Prosecutor's Office. Hankó is accused of causing significant financial harm through a criminal conspiracy involving the National Cultural Fund, allegedly misusing over 17 billion HUF. The prosecution cited risks of flight, concealment, and tampering with evidence as reasons for the extension of their detention.
