After thirty years, Népszava has dismissed its cartoonist from the new Népszabadság

Gábor Pápai, a prominent Hungarian cartoonist, was dismissed from Népszava after nearly thirty years when the editorial team joined Népszabadság. Following the transition, he was informed that he would not be contributing to the new publication, leading to his departure. Pápai expressed his sorrow over the loss of his long-time platform but affirmed his commitment to continue creating cartoons, planning to share them on Facebook and a new blog titled "Reggeli Pápai." He previously faced legal challenges for satirizing public figures, with a case currently pending at the European Court of Human Rights, arguing that Hungary violated his freedom of expression rights.
