Head of Hungarian Institute of International Affairs dismissed with immediate effect
The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed Botond Feledy as director general of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs due to a loss of trust stemming from his previous work with the former government. Feledy had been an advisor to Minister János Lázár and received significant public funding without transparency. Prime Minister Péter Magyar emphasized the importance of transparency in leadership roles, stating that concealing such information during hiring is unacceptable. Feledy, a foreign policy expert, expressed his commitment to providing trustworthy analyses and facilitating Hungary's democratic transition.
