Heineken must pay over 111 million for misconduct by Greek subsidiary

Heineken is ordered to pay over 111 million euros to Macedonian Thrace Brewery due to misconduct by its Greek subsidiary, Athenian Brewery. The Amsterdam court's ruling concludes a long-standing case dating back to 2014, when Athenian was found to have abused its market position in Greece. The court determined that MTB suffered significant losses, amounting to 43.3 million euros in damages plus 67.9 million euros in interest. Heineken plans to appeal the decision, arguing that the awarded compensation does not reflect actual market conditions.
