A seaplane was flying over the Danube near Róma over the weekend, but not everyone liked it
Kürti Gábor, president of the Hungarian Cycling Club, criticized the introduction of hydroplane passenger transport on the Danube and Tisza rivers without public consultation. He expressed concerns about noise pollution affecting local residents and the environmental impact of operations near protected areas. The Aeropark Budapest announced the return of hydroplanes to Budapest after 100 years, conducting test flights at the invitation of a local association. They emphasized that safety measures were in place during the flights and that they had consulted with local rowing clubs. The noise generated by the hydroplanes was compared to that of small aircraft, and efforts are being made to reduce it further.
