Historic result in Bulgaria. Exit poll indicates victory for pro-Russian Jotova
In the first round of Bulgaria's presidential elections held on October 25, Iliana Yotova received 34.7% of the votes, while her opponent Andrej Giurow garnered 31.9%. Yotova, supported by the Progressive Bulgaria party, aims to maintain the country's European orientation while improving relations with Moscow. Giurow, backed by the opposition party PP-DB, advocates for closer NATO cooperation and continued support for Ukraine. The presidential position changed in January when Rumen Radev resigned to focus on parliamentary elections, leading to Yotova becoming Bulgaria's first female president.
