Dog breeder in Oostmalle loses recognition: "Serious violations against animal welfare"
A professional dog breeder in Oostmalle has lost recognition due to serious violations of animal welfare regulations. Inspections revealed inadequate resting places, poor care, and unauthorized breed crossings. Despite multiple warnings and opportunities to improve, the breeder failed to take sufficient action. Minister Ben Weyts emphasized that animal welfare cannot be neglected and stated that closure is the only solution for those who do not comply with regulations. The breeder is prohibited from applying for recognition for two years and must find new homes for the remaining 30 dogs before the facilities close.
