Humanoid robots climb China’s Mount Tai in unusual challenge
On November 2, nearly 90 teams participated in the CMG World Robot Mount Tai Challenge in Shandong, China, testing advanced robotics on a historic mountain path. Robots, including humanoid and quadruped types, navigated a 3.9 km route with 3,100 stone steps and a 600-meter elevation gain. The challenging terrain featured steep inclines and sharp turns, pushing the robots' balance and maneuverability. Some quadruped robots also transported food supplies during the climb. The event showcased significant advancements in robotics research and engineering, transforming a famous mountain route into a competitive testing ground.
