HVG ranking: these are the best high schools in the country

HVG has released its annual ranking of Hungarian high schools, with some methodological changes this year. The Eötvös József Gymnasium in Budapest tops the list, followed by the Toldy Ferenc Gymnasium. Notably, the Lovassy László Gymnasium from Veszprém is the first provincial school to reach the podium. The top 10 includes no other provincial schools, but five are present in the top 20. Nearly 20% of the ranked schools are church-run, with the best foundation or private school being the Alternatív Közgazdasági Gimnázium at 31st place. The Gödöllői Török Ignác Gimnázium made the most significant leap, moving up to 26th from 73rd last year.
