Iberdrola denies link between donation and contracts in Lisbon
Iberdrola denied any link between a donation for a lighting project in Lisbon and electricity supply contracts awarded by the municipality. The company emphasized that the donation came from the Iberdrola Spain Foundation, a separate entity, while contracts were awarded to Iberdrola Clientes Portugal. The donation, over 150,000 euros, was for enhancing historical sites through efficient lighting. The Left Bloc (BE) has requested clarifications from the Lisbon mayor regarding the donation and contracts, including legal opinions and the bidding process. Concerns were raised about the timing of the donation's ratification by the city council and the justification for a direct adjustment contract worth 1.2 million euros.
