ICEYE and Nokia will build new satellite connectivity for Ukraine. Will Kyiv abandon Starlinks?
On October 22, ICEYE and Nokia signed a cooperation agreement with Ukraine's Ministry of Defense to enhance the country's defense capabilities through a sovereign satellite communication system. This initiative comes in response to recent disruptions in Starlink services, which have affected Ukraine's military operations. The partnership emphasizes the use of trusted European technology, allowing Ukraine to maintain full control over its satellite communications. ICEYE's CEO highlighted the company's commitment to supporting Ukraine since 2022, while Nokia's representative stressed the importance of reliable communication systems. The agreement was announced during Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's visit to Ukraine.
