Identificati i resti di otto desaparecidos della dittatura in Argentina
Argentinian authorities have identified the remains of eight individuals missing during the military dictatorship from 1976 to 1983, found in a mass grave near the former detention center La Perla in Córdoba. This identification, conducted by a forensic anthropology team, follows excavations that began in 2025. The total number of identified desaparecidos in the area has now reached 38 within the past year, while estimates suggest at least 2,200 were tortured and killed at La Perla. The overall death toll from the regime is estimated at around 30,000, a figure disputed by President Javier Milei. The identified remains include four women and four men, with one victim being Cecilia Pessina, a psychologist abducted in 1976. The forensic team continues its identification efforts.
