A real star became the shark that wandered into the canal of the South Korean port city, but after a few weeks, it was successfully redirected back to the sea.
A shark that became a local celebrity in Busan, South Korea, has been successfully returned to the ocean after weeks of attempts. The female dark shark, named Bukangi, attracted over 1.6 million visitors to the artificial canal where it was spotted. Despite initial warnings to avoid the area, the shark drew crowds, leading to merchandise sales and live broadcasts. However, concerns grew as the shark sustained injuries from the canal's concrete edges and stopped eating. After failed attempts to guide it back, a team of divers and veterinarians finally managed to lead Bukangi out of the canal. Experts remain hopeful that she has found her way back to the open sea.
