IHRU says it does not know if young people accept "sacrifice" for housing
The president of the Housing and Urban Rehabilitation Institute (IHRU) expressed uncertainty about whether today's society is willing to make the sacrifices necessary for home ownership, recalling how his grandparents emigrated for housing. He emphasized the importance of collective action among youth to address housing issues, suggesting they could form cooperatives as previous generations did. Pereira acknowledged the legitimacy of protests regarding housing and other societal issues, while also noting the structural nature of the housing problem, which he believes will not be resolved in the near future.
