The World Cup in skiing has commenced at the Rettenbach glacier in Sölden, featuring a women's giant slalom. Eleven Italian athletes are competing, with expectations on Lara Della Mea, Marta Bassino, and Laura Pirovano. The first run was delayed to 10:30 due to overnight snowfall. Sara Hector leads the race, followed by Alice Robinson. Julia Scheib, a favorite and giant slalom titleholder, exited midway through the race. The event has been held since 1995, with four Italian victories in the women's category.
