Incident near airbase. UK detains two suspects for espionage for Iran
The British police arrested two men suspected of espionage for Iran related to an incident near RAF Fairford. A 24-year-old British citizen and a 25-year-old dual national were detained for allegedly assisting a foreign intelligence service. The investigation follows a police intervention on September 27, where five men were arrested near the airbase, suspected of terrorism-related offenses. Although no explosives were found, a significant amount of gasoline was discovered in their vehicles. The U.S. subsequently withdrew its bombers from the base due to perceived threats from Iran. The Iranian government has denied any involvement in the incident.
