Raid at Le Mirage in Diepenbeek is part of an international investigation into human trafficking and pimping
A police raid at the Le Mirage bar in Diepenbeek is part of an international investigation into human trafficking and pimping. A woman from Mol was allegedly managing several bars where Eastern European women, primarily from Lithuania, were forced into prostitution. The suspects advertised the women through a Belgian website, with calls routed from Lithuania, Germany, and Ireland. Recent searches in Belgium, Germany, and Lithuania led to two arrests and the seizure of cash and luxury items. Sixteen women were found working as prostitutes, with seven identified as illegally residing in Belgium, and are now being provided support by local organizations.
