Investments in aquaponic farms were, according to the police, a fraud, with damages amounting to two billion.
Two individuals have been charged with an investment fraud causing a two billion crown loss, primarily involving aquaponic farm projects. Approximately 5,000 clients were affected, and the accused face up to ten years in prison. They allegedly established a network of around 70 interconnected companies to systematically collect funds from investors, promising guaranteed annual returns of 6 to 15 percent. Investigators claim the funds were not used for the promised projects but rather for operational costs and personal expenses, resembling a Ponzi scheme. Recent police raids in the South Moravian Region yielded substantial evidence, including cryptocurrency mining equipment. The accused played key roles in managing the companies and handling investor funds, and both have been remanded in custody.
