Investimento não pode ficar órfão do PRR

Public investment in Portugal has reached its lowest percentage of GDP in decades, worsened by the end of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The proposed budget indicates a more than 30% decrease in public investment, while private investment is expected to grow by about 10%. However, this reliance on private investment amidst public disinvestment and global economic instability seems unrealistic. The state should stimulate growth through strategic investments in infrastructure, digitalization, and innovation, fostering a partnership with businesses. Public investment is crucial for creating conditions that encourage private investment, especially in the current international instability. Portugal must avoid falling into the 'middle-income trap' and transform its economy through increased public investment, which is essential for enhancing high-value sectors.
